1. To qualify for Project HEAL© and be partnered with a Service Dog, you must be a veteran with a war-related physical or psychiatric disability. You must be willing to learn to incorporate and work with a dog in every aspect of your life, and be ready to become more independent. You must be able to provide love, food, exercise and veterinary care for your Service Dog.

2. Click here for the Project HEAL© application, fill it out on your computer and submit it to us online. Please mail us the supporting information (medical forms and references). Send this information to:

After your application and required materials have been reviewed and your eligibility determined, you will be scheduled for an interview. Interviews may be done in person, on the telephone or through video conferencing on your computer.

3. If you are accepted as a Service Dog recipient through Project HEAL©, you will be scheduled to travel to Dobbs Ferry, New York for 13 days of Team Training where you will be partnered with your Service Dog and taught to work with the dog to gain greater independence and lessen the effects of your disability.
